Brianne Piper

Brianne Sheree Piper was born Aug. 6, 1992, in Houston, to Calvin Dwane and Paula Ann (McGaughey) Piper and died Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in Austin.

Upon moving to Rosebud at a young age, Brianne quickly made life-long friendships and excelled as a student, participating in band and the drama club through high school. In her free time, she developed local fundraising opportunities for children in need through ticketed events hosted by her favorite bands. She had a natural talent for bringing people together and was recognized as a catalyst of goodwill among her peers.

After graduating with honors and a year’s worth of college credits to her name at Rosebud-Lott High School, she moved to San Marcos and started Texas State University as a sophomore, studying Psychology with a minor in Journalism. As an avid reader, Brianne cultivated a profound appreciation for global cultures and wrote in-depth blog posts and journal entries about her budding understanding of others. She was a consummate observer who often felt called to spread awareness and engage in local advocacy efforts.

During her time on campus, Brianne also formed a social club that revolved around women supporting each other and welcomed anyone needing an extra hand or hug during her time in college. She was an attentive listener, compassionate communicator, and a welcoming companion to both friends and strangers – a true humanitarian to her very core.

In 2014, her life took on new meaning when she welcomed her son James into the world and she pivoted her focus to concentrate on her growing family. In 2017, her daughter Eliana was born and elevated the ambiance, perfectly rounding out the household with Brianne lookalikes, in both resemblance and personality. Brianne’s children were the highlight of her life and continue to carry on her legacy with a quick sense of humor and easy-going personalities.

Brianne is survived by her mother, Paula Piper; her children, James and Eliana; her brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Margot Piper; along with extended family in Texas, Arizona, Arkansas, Illinois, and Florida. She is preceded in death by her father, Calvin Piper, who is inurned at the Roscoe Cemetery in Illinois.

A celebration of Brianne’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 24, in Cameron at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home. A visitation and viewing will begin at 1 p.m., with a memorial service to immediately follow at 2 p.m. A private burial is slated for the family at a later date. Casual attire is encouraged, as Brianne would have enjoyed seeing everyone comfortable in their favorite fit. Feel free to add a touch of purple, as it was her favorite color.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to your local animal shelters or nonprofits in Brianne’s memory as she was an enthusiastic champion for all living creatures.
