Rebecca T. McAnelly

Rebecca T. McAnelly, of Waco, age 80, passed peacefully on Monday, May 30, 2022, at Regent Care of Woodway under Hospice care. 

Rebecca Sue Terry was born on May 31, 1941, in Waco, to Elizabeth Aynesworth and R.L. Terry. She grew up in Cameron and graduated from Yoe High in 1960. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in photography from University of Texas in 1976. 

Rebecca retired from Lucent Technologies in 1996 after 20+ years in the telecommunications industry. After retirement, she contracted as a consultant, was Communications Director for Baylor, Scott & White, a substitute teacher and a small business owner. Rebecca had a zest for life with a passion for photography, literature, and dancing. Rebecca loved her children and grandchildren and was so proud of each of them.  

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Aynesworth and R.L. Terry; stepmother, Lois Terry; brother, Billy Ray Terry; sister, Linda Kay Meyer; son, Chad McAnelly (former spouse Charles McAnelly); grandsons, Dustin Tepera; and Dalton Rosser. 

Survivors include her son, Roddy Ramirez (former spouse Ike Ramirez) and daughter-in-law Lori Ramirez of Guntersville, Ala.; daughter, Karen Tepera Franklin (former spouse Ray Tepera) and son-in-law, Tod Franklin of Dallas; son, David Tepera (former spouse Ray Tepera), daughter-in-law Tina Tepera of League City; grandchildren, Alex and Allison Ramirez, Kameron and Logan Franklin, and Dylan and Daylyn Tepera; her sister, Nancy Standard of Sugarland; and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held at Robinson Cemetery on July 8, 2022, at 10 a.m. for family and friends. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to ALS Association or the American Diabetes Association.
