World Series Champions

Earlier this week Cameron, Texas had some softball representation in Delaware. Members of the Lady Yoe softball team Lauren Harris, Lindsey Talafuse, and Delanie Evans participated in the 18U Little League World Series for team Central Texas. Not only did they represent Cameron, their team went undefeated in their trip and were part of the team that won the 18U Little League World Series Championship. Team Central Texas breezed by the regional games; beating Latin America 8-2, Delaware D3 8-3, Asia-Pacific 10-1, and shutout team East 12-0. They moved into the world series bracket and won their first game 11-1 against team Canada, then won 9-2 in the semi-final against team Southeast. They had some trouble in the championship game against Delaware D3 as they were down 3-0 going into the sixth inning. Team Central Texas rallied big time with a 9 run sixth inning to eventually claim the title winning 9-5. Team Central Texas also gained some notoriety as Lindsay Talafuse put herself on SportsCenter with the number one play of the week with a spectacular home run saving catch in the third inning of the championship game. Congratulations to Lauren Harris, Lindsey Talafuse, and Delanie Evans.
