Yoemen set for Fairfield in first round of playoffs

The Yoemen will go into the playoffs as a three seed in district after two tough losses last week. The Yoemen will face Fairfield in a bi-district matchup to start the playoffs in a three game series.

Game 1 will be Friday at 5:30 p.m., game 2 will be on Saturday at 2 p.m., and if needed, game 3 will be on Saturday at 5 p.m. All games will be held at Nutrabolt Stadium in Bryan.

The Yoemen hosted the Troy Trojans on Friday. Cameron was defeated by Troy 14-2 in six innings due to the ten run rule.

Troy caught the Yoemen off guard and took a 4-0 lead. Cameron answered back in the fourth inning with two runs, both from consecutive singles from Landen Greene and Marino Cardona. Troy pulled away for good with 10 total runs over the next two innings to activate the ten run rule and beat Cameron 14-2.

The Yoemen then played in a seeding game on Saturday against the Little River Academy Bumblebees. Cameron fell to Academy 8-2.

The Bumblebees took an early 7-1 lead and never looked back to eventually win 8-2.
