Yoe Cross Country hosts Midnight Sun

The Cameron cross country team hosted the Midnight Sun event on Aug. 22.

The girls team consisted of four runners: Alex Daniel, Crystal Reyes, Kiera Land, and Claire Kopriva. 

Alex Daniel was the first Cameron runner to cross the finish line, finishing 12th with a time of 14:28.80. Crystal Reyes was next, finishing 15th with a time of 14:45. Kiera Land was the next runner to finish, coming in 19th with a time of 14:57. Claire Kopriva was the last runner to cross the finish line at 27th with a time of 16:11.40.

The boys side competed against eight other schools and finished in second place with a total of 75 points. 

Esteban Luna was the first runner for Cameron to cross the finish line, coming in 10th with a time of 15:40.50. Ricardo Reyes was right behind him in 11th with a time of 15:46.80. Zach Frausto was next at 14th with a time of 16:05.40. Steven Marquez finished next at 20th with a time of 16:21.80. Marbel Reducindo finished shortly after, coming in 22nd with a time of 16:31.70. Jarrell Garza was the last runner to cross the finish line at 36th with a time of 18:39.20. 

Up next, Cameron will be running in the McGregor Invitational. The meet will be on Saturday, Aug. 31, and held at Bluebonnet Park in McGregor.
