Cow Calf Clinic scheduled for January 9

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Milam County is hosting its 44th Annual Central Texas Cow-Calf Clinic in cooperation with Bell, Burleson, Falls, Robertson, and Williamson Counties. 

For years, the Central Texas Cow-Calf Clinic has been well attended and provided Central Texas beef producers a proactive and valuable educational opportunity.

This event will take place at the Milam County Youth Expo Building in Cameron and will feature educational presentations on a wide variety of topics associated with Cow-Calf production. The program will begin at 7:30 a.m. with Coffee & Donuts provided at registration. This year’s topics include:

2025 Beef Cattle Market Update and Outlook – Dr. Jason Johnson, Extension Economist & Associate Professor

Hay Storage & Feeding Types: How to Get the Most Out of Your Investment- Dr. Larry Redmon, Professor, Associate Department Head – Dept. of Soil & Crop Science

Evaluating Structure and Conformation Demonstration: What to Look for and the Value it Adds – Dr. Joe Paschal, Retired Livestock Specialist, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension

TDA Laws & Regulations Update – Dr Mark Matocha, Professor & Extension Specialist

Pre-Emergent Herbicide Discussion: How to Control Common Pasture Weeds Such as Grass Burs & Goatweed – Zach Howard, Extension Weed Specialist

Producers will also enjoy an industry trade show featuring businesses associated with beef cattle production in a variety of ways. 

2 CEU’s will be provided to pesticide applicators; 1 in IPM and 1 in Laws & Regulations

The cost for the program will be $20, paid at the door.
