Funeral services for Debra Ann Alexander, age 66, of Thorndale, were held on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Chaplain Bruce Mercer officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Thorndale. Visitation was held on Friday, May 31, at the funeral home.
Debra Ann Alexander, lovingly known as “Nana” by her family, was born July 5, 1952, in Lindsay, Okla., to Jack and Alvie Pearl (Saltkill) Cook. On Nov. 24, 1972, she and Tommy Alexander were married in Pernell, Okla. They have been longtime residents of the Thorndale area. Nana was a homemaker giving out her special hugs and kisses to each generation of her children. She passed away at her home early Tuesday morning, May 28, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Cook and Pearl Wood; husband, Tommy Alexander on Sept. 12, 2011; brother, Robbie Cook; sister-in-law, Diann Surginer; brother-in-law, Carl Alexander; parents-in-law, Betty and Ernie Bell and George Alexander; nieces, April Dudley and Catherine Alexander and a nephew, Chris Sharber.
Surviving are her sons, Shawn Alexander and wife Geri of Rockdale, and Michael Alexander and wife Victoria of Thorndale; daughter, Stacy Montelongo and husband Thomas of Rockdale; brothers, Richard Cook of Kansas, Mo., and Steve Cook and wife Phylis of Elmore City, Okla.; a sister, Laura Dudley of Checotah, Okla.; grandchildren, Samantha Alexander and husband Anthony, Madeline Montelongo, Jacob Montelongo, Hannah Alexander, Casey Alexander, Amanda Lopez and husband Tony, Brooksy Fisher and husband Colby and Hailey Davidson; great-grandchildren, McKena Lopez, Paisley Fisher and Owen Fisher; sisters-in-law, Elaine Alexander of Rockdale, Cheryl and Don Standridge of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Dee Cook; brothers-in-law, Clyde Surginer of Rockdale, Jimmy and Shirley Alexander, Jerry and Debbie Alexander, Ronnie and Pam Alexander, all of Rockdale.
Pallbearers were Carl Alexander Jr., Brian Alexander, Brad Alexander, Jared Alexander, Jason Cook, Casey Cook, and Kelvin Kroeger Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Amanda Surginer, Shana Davenport, Melissa Christie, Laura Frei, Sherrie Jones, Arion Palm, Logan Palm, Lisa Roquette, and Leann Buchanan.
