Jack Thornton Kirk

Jack Thornton Kirk, 68, of Snook, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022. A public visitation was held on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9-11 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Jack was born on June 17, 1954, to Tommy and Beatrice (Walker) Kirk in Cameron. He was one of four siblings. Jack graduated from C.H. Yoe High School in Cameron in 1972 and continued to follow Yoe sports.

Jack was a member of the Snook Brethren Church and attended Marlow Baptist Church to hear his brother’s Sunday message. Jack married Cynthia Kovar on April 10, 1987 and they made their home in Snook. Jack was a carpenter by trade and traveled the United States with his construction projects. He ended his career at CHI St. Joseph, retiring in May 2019. Jack took pride in his garden and built above ground garden boxes before they became popular. He was a faithful University of Texas Longhorns fan and proud owner of his Harley Davidson “Fat Boy” motorcycle. He was a loving and supportive father (Daddy) and an adoring grandfather (Papa). Rain or shine, he picked his granddaughter up from school every day for the past nine years.

Jack was beloved by his family and friends and will always be remembered as a fun-loving guy who could make you laugh.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Beatrice Kirk; parents-in-law, Edwin and Ruth Kovar; and his loyal dog, Charlie.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Kirk of Snook; his son, Nicolas (Chief) Noble-Kirk and daughter-in-law Alana Noble-Kirk of New York City; daughter and son-in-law, Erika (Peanut) and Cole Winn and grandchildren, Olivia (My Little Bundle) Valdez and Kason (Little Man) Winn of Snook; brother and sister- in-law, Wayne and Jeanie Kirk of Milano; sisters and brother-in-law, Liz Sears of Arlington and Paula and Mark Woods of Cameron; sister-in-law and partner, Pamela Massey and Craig Neveux of Houston; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry and Yvonne Kovar and Michael and Melissia Kovar of Snook; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
