Joan Wise

Mrs. Joan Wise, 80, of Cameron, passed away unexpectedly in at her home on Feb. 22, 2021.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron, with Rev. Stephen Kelley and Rev. Bill Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Friday, Feb. 26, from 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Joan Lavell Cogbill was born June 6, 1940, in Houston, to Grover and Janette (Deal) Cogbill. She was a 1958 graduate of Rockdale High School. She married Jerald Wise on Nov. 7, 1958. Joan loved books and was an avid reader, especially studying the Bible. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cameron.

She is survived by her husband, Jerald Wise of Cameron; one son, Steve Wise and wife, Chanyn, of Cameron; two daughters, Debra Remy and husband, Doug, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Sherri Hennen and husband Tom of Willis.  Also surviving is one sister, Peggy Smith and husband, Clayton, of Franklin, Tenn. Ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jerry Cogbill.
