Johnny Leftwich

Johnny Leftwich, age 70 of Cameron, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022, at his home in Cameron.

Services were held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Larry Nickels officiating.  Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 1, at the funeral home.

Johnny was born January 29, 1952, in Midland to John William “J.W. Speedy” and Clara Jane (Enlow) Leftwich.  He was a graduate of Monahans High School.  He worked 55 years as a Line Foreman with an electrical company until his retirement in 2020.  On March 1, 1980, he and Nancy Nickels were married in Monahans where they have lived until they came to Cameron in 1996.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Larry Leftwich; and step-father, Robert “Bob” Gafford.

Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Nancy Leftwich of Cameron; daughters, Diane Combs and husband Jerry “J.C.” of Cameron and Tami VanWinkle and husband Bobby of Cameron; step-mother, Geneva Leftwich of Monahans; sisters, Patty Madison and husband Bob of Sherman and Dewey Larpenteur of Lafayette, La.; four grandchildren, Lauryn Leftwich, Mason Stifflemire, Kyli Leftwich and Maci VanWinkle; and one great-grandchild on the way.
