Loretta Jane Schiller
Loretta Jane Schiller, 85, of the Temple/Belton area and formerly of McGregor, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, at Oak Hill Cemetery Pavilion in Cameron. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation prior to graveside services will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Marek-Burns-Laywell funeral Home.
Mrs. Schiller, a retired medical technologist and LVN for Darnell Hospital at Fort Hood, was born June 15, 1937, in McGregor, to Joseph Ira and Willie Lee (Janes) Stephens. She had a lifelong passion for photography and reading. She counted herself extremely lucky and blessed to have married the love of her life, Curtis Allen Schiller, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her oldest sister Francis Lane, younger brother Robert Stephens, daughter Billye Jean (Rierson Olmstead) Bone, and by her son Steven Ray Rierson.
She is survived by her older sister, Dorothy Bates; former son-in-law, David Olmstead; grandchildren, April Olmstead Horak, Jason Olmstead, and Stacy Rierson Wheatley; step-grandchild, Toby Tibbit; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Rhett Horak and Ashlyn Elizabeth Horak; and numerous friends and acquaintances that will always remember her sharp wit, feisty humor, and strength of her love.
