Loy Edmondson

Loy Edmondson, 65, of Rockdale, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Thorndale. 

He was born on August 22, 1956 to Larry and Peggy Joyce (Paris) Edmondson in Thorndale. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. On November 23, 1991, he married Patricia Murray in Thorndale. He worked as a cross country truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, going to the VFW and visiting with friends. He was involved with the Rockdale Depot Museum and the trains there.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Peggy Edmondson; and brother, Douglas Bean.

Loy is survived by his wife, Patricia Edmondson of Rockdale; son, Loy Alan Edmondson of Rockdale; brother, Dan Edmondson of Thorndale; sister, Kay Dodds of Austin; grandchildren, Eric James Gehring and Ashley Michelle Gehring; six great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Officiating will be Kenny Kilcrease. Burial was in Locklin Cemetery. Visitation was held on Saturday.

Serving as pallbearers are Dillon Decker, Ernest Garza, John Cavazos, Loy Alan Edmondson, and Buddy Brogger.
