Mary Rider

Mary Rider, 89, of Cameron died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, at her home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2022, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will follow in the Old Marak Methodist Cemetery in Marak. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rider was born in April 4, 1933, in Cameron to Essie and Eugene Claxton. She met and married Lloyd E. Rider in 1949. She and her husband lived and raised 10 children until Lloyd’s death in 2000.  She worked for Cameron Nursing Home and was a homemaker. 

Mary loved everybody she met and always welcomed everyone into her big wonderful heart.  She will truly be missed! She had never met anyone that she had not invited into her family.  Everyone was a part of her family in some way or another!

In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by two daughters, Rose and Janette; one son; one grandson; and one granddaughter.

She is survived by her daughters, Thelma Rider, Essie Rider and Marlene Vincent, all of Cameron; sons, Gene and Ronald Rider, both of Rosebud, John Rider of Cameron and James Rider of Snyder; 56 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 36 great-great-grandchildren.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
