Roger Eugene DeLong
Reverend Roger Eugene DeLong, 67, of Cameron passed Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, at the Christian Community Church in Pettibone. Burial followed in the Pebble Grove Cemetery in Maysfield. Viewing was held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Roger DeLong, pastor of the Cameron United Pentecostal Church, was born April 19, 1955, in Benton Harbor, Mich., to James and Nellie (Oaks) DeLong. He married the love of his life, Nancy Gillispie and he had worked for several years as a maintenance man for the Cameron Housing Authority, but his passion was the Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jason DeLong.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy DeLong of Cameron; sons, Roger DeLong of Dayton, and Frank DeLong of Atlanta; daughters, Larissa Calhoun of Queen City and Tammy DeLong of Cameron; brothers, Danny DeLong of Cameron and James DeLong of Olympia, Wash.; sister, Carla Collier of Cameron; step-mother, Wanda DeLong of Cameron; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
