Ruth Lee Price Rosenthal
Ruth Lee Price Rosenthal, age 97 of Thorndale, passed away peacefully in her home after a long and full life on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021.
Ruth Lee Price was born Sept. 7, 1923, in Chriesman to Owen Webb Price and Essie Cox Price.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Rosenthal; her son, Bob L. Rosenthal; and her parents and sister.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lt. Col. Edward and Yerma Rosenthal of New Braunfels; her daughter-in-law, Deanie B. Rosenthal of Monroe, Ga.; her grandchildren, Dr. Mark and Pam Rosenthal of Palmetto, Fla., Dr. Tara and Woody Hodges of Queen Creek, Ariz., Erica and Mark Seamans of Boerne, and Paul and Jessica Rosenthal of Monroe, Ga.; and, her 13 great-grandchildren, Dallas, Mark Paul, Anabelle, Josh, Reagan, Tyler, Sophie, and Landry, all of Palmetto, Fla., Greyson and Caroline of Queen Creek, Ariz., Madison of Boerne, and Bella and Emma of Monroe, Ga.
Ruth attended Texas Women’s University in Denton, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. That degree began a long and successful career teaching in multiple school districts in Texas for 42 years. She was a beloved teacher to countless students in Midway, Thorndale and Thrall schools. Her favorite age group to teach was middle school, and her favorite subject to teach was reading comprehension.
The lasting impact Ruth had on so many that she taught can be seen through lifelong friendships she kept with many of her students through the years, all the way until her passing on Sunday when her favorite student of her entire teaching career spent time with her playing her favorite gospel hymns for her.
Visitation will be held Friday evening, Feb. 26, from 5-7 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Her funeral service will be held at the Caldwell Masonic Cemetery on Saturday morning, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m. with interment to follow immediately thereafter.
