Sammie Lee Young

Sammie Lee Young, 82 of Cameron, died Thursday. Services were held on Saturday, March 26, at Marek-Burn-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with burial following in Milam Grove Cemetery in Maysfield. Visitation was at Glenn Mack Funeral Home in Hearne on Friday, March 25, family from 12-2 p.m. and guests from 2-4 p.m. 

Miss Sammie Lee was born in Franklin and was formally a Certified Nurses Aide and a Babysitter/Housekeeper for many years.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Young and companion Bobby McGowan of Cameron; Bobby Ray Brooks of Cameron; Samuel Charles Brooks of Cameron, and companion Rosie Hernandez of Manor; God-daughters include Brenda Vega, Juanita Brod, and Toni-Brod-Sherric, all of Cameron; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Helen Drone of Cameron.

Glenn Mack Funeral Home in Hearne is in charge of arrangements.

All flowers are to be sent to Glenn Mack, 501 W Brown St., Hearne TX 77859 or on the day of service at Marek-Burns-Laywell in Cameron.

Food may be dropped off at the Trinity New Life Worship Center between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on March 26.
