Truman Benny Pratt
Truman Benny Pratt, a life-long resident of Cameron, passed away on July 1, 2022, at the age of 88.
Truman was born on Oct. 29, 1933, in Cameron, and worked as an avid brick mason who also devoted a portion of his life as an Engineer for U.S. Army and deployed to Germany.
Truman is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Edwin Pratt; his mother, Ora Aline Henry; brothers, Stanley and Lee Roy Pratt; sister, Margie Pratt McClarren; and his soulmate of 30 years, Shirley Parsutt.
He is survived by his son, William Pratt; daughter, Terre Elaine Sutton; brother, Wesley Pratt; and sister, Bonnie Pratt Peel; grandson, Albert J. Pacheco and wife Courtney, and their sons Korbin and Lane Pacheco.
Truman had a passion for work, fishing, wildlife and dancing. Truman had an immaculate memory and people loved hearing stories of his childhood living in the country in Cameron. He was well known for his funny personable conversations, jokes, generous spirit, and making friends anywhere he went. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone and was always doing for others over himself no matter what the circumstances were. Anyone that came in contact with Truman became to love him.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Marlow Baptist Church, 1794 Co Rd 229, Cameron, TX 76520. Family and friends are welcome to gather and tell stories 30 minutes prior to services.
