City increases water tap fees

The Thorndale City Council passed an Ordinance on Oct. 9 increasing the water tap fee from $950 to $1,265. 

This increase will go into effect on Nov. 1, 2024.

The council also approved a resolution opposing the Austin Bitcoin Facility.

In other business the council also: granted a variance for a property line encroachment at 107 N. Broadway; approved using General Obligation Bonds for financing the loan from the Texas Water Development Board; approved the Thorndale Champion as the official newspaper; approved interlocal agreements with Milam County and Thorndale ISD; approved the annual review of the investment policy and strategy guidelines; and approved the Thorndale Economic Development Board Budget for Fiscal Year 2024-25.
