Cameron boys headed to Regional Meet
The Cameron boys cross country team is headed to the Regional Meet after coming in second place.
Cameron hosted the 3A - District 19 Cross Country meet on Monday.
The boys team had a fantastic meet and finished second with a total of 61 points and qualifying for regionals.
Damon Flemings was the first runner for Cameron to cross the finish line, coming in fifth with a time of 17:30.60. Esteban Luna was next, finishing in ninth with a time of 17:54.40. Alejandro Silva finished in 12th with a time of 18:03.20. Vicente Sanchez was next, finishing in 15th with a time of 18:11.30. Zach Frausto finished in 20th with a time of 18:25.80. Steven Marquez was next at 22nd with a time of 18:27.80. Ricardo Reyes was the last runner for Cameron to cross the finish line at 37th with a time of 21:23.80.
The girls team just barely missed qualifying for regionals and finished in fourth with a total of 119 points.
Kiera Land was the first Cameron runner to cross the finish line, finishing 12th with a time of 13:43.10. Tiara Reducindo was next, finishing 23rd with a time of 14:25.50. Crystal Reyes finished next in 25th with a time of 14:40.10. Alex Daniel was next, finishing in 29th place with a time of 14:57.40. Vanessa Hadley finished in 34th with a time of 15:19.90. Kinzie Williford finished next, coming in 41st with a time of 16:54.60. Isabella Llanas was the last Cameron runner to cross the finish line at 44th with a time of 17:28.20.
Up next, Cameron will be competing in the Regional Meet on Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Huntsville.
