Chamber Basketball Classic returns Dec. 27-28
The Cameron Chamber of Commerce Christmas Classic will host a total of 12 girl’s teams and eight boy’s teams in tournament play over two days.
Tournament play will begin on Friday, Dec. 27, at 8 a.m. and continue throughout Saturday.
Games will be played at the Yoe High School Gym and the Cameron Junior High Gym.
Tickets may be purchased at the door.
The Cameron Chamber of Commerce will be selling tickets: two-day pass will be $10 for students and seniors 65 and over. Two-day pass for adults are $15. One-day passes will be $8 for students and seniors over 65, and $10 for adults. This is not a UIL event so they will not be accepting coaches, teachers or administrative passes.
The boy’s side of the tournament will kick off at 8 a.m. on Friday morning when the Cameron Yoemen will face Giddings in the new gym
Pool A will consist of Cameron, Bruceville-Eddy, Giddings and Shoemaker JV.
Giddings will take on Shoemaker JV at noon in the new gym. Cameron will take on Bruceville-Eddy at 6:40 p.m. in the new gym. Bruceville-Eddy will take on Shoemaker JV at 9:20 a.m. in the junior high gym.
Pool B will consist of Elgin, Snook, Robinson and Bryan JV.
Robinson will take on Elgin at noon in the junior high gym. Robinson will take on Bryan JV at 4 p.m. in the junior high gym. Snook will take on Bryan JV at 10:40 a.m. in the new gym. Elgin will take on Snook at 2:40 p.m. in the new gym.
Four remaining pool games will be played on Saturday morning. Shoemaker JV will take on Cameron at 9:20 a.m. in the new gym and Bruceville-Eddy will take on Giddings at 9:20 a.m. in the junior high gym. Elgin will take on Bryan JV at noon in the new gym. Snook will take on Robinson at 1:20 p.m. in the new gym
The seventh and eighth place game will be played between fourth place in Pool A and fourth place in Pool B at 4 p.m. in the new gym.
The fifth and sixth place game will be played between third place in Pool A and third place in Pool B at 5:20 p.m. in the new gym.
The third and fourth place game will be played between second place in Pool A and second place in Pool B at 8 p.m. in the junio high gym.
The first and second place game will take place between first place in Pool A and first place in Pool B at 8 p.m. in the new gym.
The girl’s side of the tournament will kick off at 8 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, also with the Lady Yoe taking on Travis in the high school game.
Pool A for the girls will be Cameron, Travis and Aggieland.
Aggieland will take on Travis at 1:20 p.m. in the junior high game gym. Cameron will take on Aggieland at 4 p.m. in the high school game gym.
Pool B for the girls will be Buffalo, Iola and Hearne.
Iola will take on Buffalo at 8 a.m. in the junior high game gym. Iola will face Hearne at 1:20 p.m. in the high school game gym. Hearne will take on Buffalo at 5:20 p.m. in the high school game gym.
Pool C for the girls will be Navaroo, All Saints and Jarrell.
All Saints will take on Navarro in the high school game gym at 9:20 a.m. All Saints will face Jarrell at 2:40 p.m. in the junior high game gym. Jarrell will face Navarro at 6:40 p.m. in the junior high game gym.
Pool D for the girls is Crockett, West and Holland.
Crockett will face West at 10:40 a.m. in the junior high game gym. Crockett will face Holland at 5:20 p.m. in the junior high game gym. West will face Holland at 8 p.m. in the junior high game gym.
The girl’s schedule for Saturday, Dec. 28, will be for the bronze, silver and gold divisions.
Bronze division games are: Game 1 – third place Pool A against third place Pool B at 8 a.m. in the high school game gym; Game 2 – third place Pool C against third place Pool D at 8 a.m. in the junior high gym; the bronze division losers will play at 10:40 a.m. in the junior high gym; the bronze division winners will face off at 1:20 p.m. in the junior high gym.
Silver division games are: Game 3 – second place Pool A against second place Pool B at 10:40 a.m. in the high school game gym; Game 4 – second place Pool C against second place Pool D at noon in the junior high gym; the silver division losers will play at 2:40 p.m. in the junior high gym; the silver division winners will play at 5:20 p.m. in the junior high gym.
Gold division games are: Game 5 – first place Pool A against first place Pool B at 2:40 p.m. in the high school game gym; Game 6 – first place Pool C against first place Pool D at 4 p.m. in the junior high gym; the gold division losers will play at 6:40 p.m. in the junior high gym; the gold division winners will play for first place at 6:40 p.m. in the high school game gym.
