Keratsopoulos wins tournament

Former Yoemen and current UMHB golfer Nikolas Keratsopoulos won the Texas Collegiate Amateur Tour, Metroplex Collegiate Open with a four-over-par three-round total of 220.  After a difficult opening round of 80, he finished the first thirty-six holes by shooting a one-over-par 73 which put him in 7th place, six strokes out of the lead. Nikolas hit the links Thursday determined to move up to the top three in his first tournament outing since March.  He fired off an impressive five-under-par 67 for his new collegiate round low and the low round for the tournament.  Nikolas won the 54-hole event played at Bridlewood Golf Club, in Flower Mound, over 20 other collegiate golfers from Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and South Dakota. He had 11 birdies and an eagle in the win. The next tour event will be at Horseshoe Bay near Marble Falls on June 23 and 24.
