Lady Yoe soccer team tops district honors

Several Lady Yoe soccer players received district level awards this week led by Co-Defensive Player of the Year, senior Alexis Mendoza; Co-Freshman Player of the Year Delilah Lara; Goalie of the Year, senior Savannah Nejtek; and Coach of the Year Laura Dickson.

Other players receiving honors were:

1st Team All-District: Celeste Cardona (Junior), Brandi Drake (Senior), Brittani Drake (Junior), and Mariana Penaloza (Senior)

2nd Team All-District: Brianna Acosta (Sophomore), Gabi Borgas (Senior), Analiese Salazar (Junior), and Seally Smith (Sophomore) 

Honorable Mention All-District: Judith Lopez (Senior), Courtney Ortiz (Senior), and Alejandra Tapia (Junior)

Academic All-District: Brianna Acosta, Gabi Borgas, Brandi Drake, Brittani Drake,  Judith Lopez, Alexis Mendoza, Ja’Mya Miller (Freshman), Savannah Nejtek, Analiese Salazar, Seally Smith, and Alejandra Tapia

The Cameron Lady Yoe soccer team made it to the area round of the playoffs and were defeated by the Lorena Lady Leopards 4-0.
