Seven Yoemen named to Class 3A All-State team

Seven Yoemen have been named to the Texas Sports Writers Association Class 3A All-State team.

Selection were released Monday featuring several local products in key spots. 

Will Scott was the only first team selection for his play on offensive line. Picked to the second team were wideout Kobe Young and linebacker Nico Vargas. Honorable mentions were ZaKorien Spikes, Braden Brashear, Eduardo Gil and Patrick England. 

Other area stars being picked to All-State included first teamers: running back Zach Hrbacek from Troy and offensive lineman Conner Arney of Rogers. 

Second team picks were: tight end Beau Workman from Troy, linebacker Aaron Allert from Lexington, and offensive lineman Cody Duewall from Franklin. 

Tabbed to the third team: running back Jerred Kerr and offensive lineman Juan Lara, both of Lexington. 

Honorable Mention selections included: Troy’s Sam Jones, Beau Workman, and Kadin Workman; Rogers’ Evan Doskocil, Ty Sebek, JJ Frieden, and Jordan Riley; Rockdale’s Jace Robinson and Cam’Ron Valdez; Little River-Academy’s Braden Lilly; and Franklin’s Datron Dixon.
