UIL realignment numbers announced
The University Interscholastic League has announced the official conference cutoff numbers for the next realignment.
The numbers released this week only provide a range of enrollments for each of the state’s six conferences, including divisional cutoffs for football.
The 2024 realignment for football districts will not be released until February.
The 6A conference will be for schools at 2,275 students and above. Class 5A Division 1 will include 1,903 to 2,274, while Division 2 will comprise 1,315 to 1,902. Class 4A Division 1 will be 957 to 1,314, with Division 2 from 545 to 956. Class 3A Division 1 will include 369 to 544, with Division 2 to run from 254 to 368. Class 2A Division 1 will be 181.5 to 253, with Division 2 from 105 to 181.4. Class 1A Division 1 will be 61.5 to 104.9, with Division 2 to encompass all schools less than 61.4 students.
With those cutoffs, the Cameron Yoemen will again show up in 3A Division 1 after turning in a snapshot number of 475, while current district foes Academy, McGregor, Rockdale, Franklin, and Troy would likely join Cameron in that division.
District opponent Lorena will return to 4A for the coming realignment.
Rogers, Lexington, and Thrall are in 3A D2. Hearne, Marlin, Holland, Rosebud-Lott, and Thorndale are all 2A D1. Granger, Bartlett, and Milano sit in 2A D2 while Calvert and Buckholts are squarely in 1A D2.
