Yoe’s Flemings surpasses 1,000 career points
The Cameron Yoemen boys basketball team remained home to host the Thrall Tigers on New Years Eve. Cameron fell to Thrall, losing a hard fought game 40-34. Despite the loss, it was a special moment as Damon Flemings (5) surpassed 1,000 career points scored. The Yoemen traveled to take on the Rogers Eagles on Friday, Jan. 3. Cameron was defeated by Rogers, losing 80-43. The Yoemen got off to a rough start as they fell behind 22-8 at the end of the first quarter. They also had a tough second quarter and trailed 45-17 at halftime. The second half was not much easier and Cameron was outscored 35-26 in the second half to lose the game 80-43. With this loss, Cameron has a record of 3-16 and a district record of 0-3. Up next, the Yoemen will return home to host the Lexington Eagles. The game will be on Friday, Jan. 10, and tip off is set for 7:30 p.m. At left, Damon Flemings scores. At right, Kelton Driska looks to rebound the ball.
