Yoe tennis competes at China Spring

The Yoe Tennis Team competed Thursday in China Spring Varsity Invitational.  This was a very competitive tournament with mostly 4A and 5A schools.

Boys Doubles results were:

Nolan Brashear and Marino Cardona: first round - Defeated Cox/Martinez (Whitney) 8-0; second round - Defeated Shin/Dutton (Harker Heights) 8-2; Quarterfinals - Defeated Ferguson/Hicks (Franklin) 8-3; Semifinals - Lost to Byrd/Varga (China Spring) 3-8

Colby Barton and Ryan Muniz: first round - Defeated Stevenson/Vance (Whitney) 8-6; second round - Lost to Harvey/Shine (Harker Heights) 3-8; third match - Defeated Tatum/Smith (Gatesville) 8-3

Boys Singles: Kincaid Callahan - first round - Defeated Alvarado (Madisonville) 8-0; second round - Lost to Thompson (China Spring 0-8); Consolation  - Defeated Shamblin (Franklin) 8-3; Consolation Quarterfinals - Defeated Almaraz (Madisonville) 6-4; Consolation Semifinals - Lost to Arterburn (Waco) 4-6; Colby Green - first round - Lost to Barker (Madisonville) 5-8; consolation - Defeated Austin (Harker Heights) 8-0; consolation 2nd Round - Defeated Crosby (Mexia) 8-0; consolation Quarterfinals - Lost 7-6 (7-5 in the Tiebreaker)

Mixed Doubles: Jesse Martinez and Alexis Mendoza - first round - Lost to Forest/Stewart (Madisonville) 3-8; consolation - Defeated Heath/Hyatt (Waco) 8-5; consolation - Lost to Chappell/Stephens (Waco) 0-6

Girls Doubles: Gabi Borgas and Courtney Ortiz - first round - Lost to Sriran/Mora (Waco) 1-8; consolation - Lost to Rodriguez/Hyatt (Whitney) 3-8
