Yoe tennis successful at Navasota Invitational

The Yoe Tennis Team was in action last week at the Navasota Invitational.

Marino Cardona won first place in boys singles.

He defeated Jayson McGinty from Navasota 8-0 in the first round, defeated Seth Pine from Sealy in the second round 8-4, defeated Colby Eschenburg from Sealy 8-4 in the semi-final round, and defeated Johnathan Chavez from Huntsville 5-7, 6-2 and 11-9 in the finals.

Also in Boys Singles, Xavier Muniz won his first match 8-6 against Dylan Matthews from Sealy, before falling to Tournament Runner Up Johnathan Chavez from Huntsville 8-4 in the second round.

Aubree Brashear won her first match 8-4 against Katherine Burnett from Huntsville, before falling to the eventual fourth place finisher Kylie Maxson of Navasota 0-8.

Jasdan Llanas dropped her first match 0-8 against Tournament Runner Up Hanna Spradley of Bryan 0-8, before beating Alisha Pickering of Navasota 8-1, and Adeline Hamblin of Giddings, before falling to Paige Agular of Giddings 8-6 in the Consolation Finals.

In girls doubles, the team of Camryn Green and Macie Vaculin opened the tournament with a 8-1 win over the team of Brooklin Mersiovsky and Kamryn Schmidt of Giddings, before falling to the Tournament Runner Up team of Emmy Novicke and Caydence Lischka of Bellville 8-4.

In mixed doubles the team of Jacqueline McKinney and Alejandro got a first round bye, and then fell in the second round 1-8 to the eventual runner up team of  Eli Elms and Virgina Lara of Hunsville.

This moved them to the Consolation Bracket where they defeated the team of William Reyes/Avery Steale of Navasota 8-2, The team of Matt/Cheyenne of Huntsville 8-2, and then defeated the team of Thomas Luce/Kennedy Patterson of Latexo 8-4 to claim the Consolation Championship.
