Yoe wrestling begins new season
Last year, the Cameron Yoemen wrestling team competed in the postseason and made to regionals.
Jordan Wells went 2-1 in his three matches. Seth Perez was ranked and had a first round bye, then went on and won his opener. Brady Havens lost his two matches and unfortunately was eliminated from the regionals. Overall, Seth won three matches and lost two and won his last match 17 to 3 in dominating fashion. Seth Perez ended the meet finishing fifth overall. Brady Havens, Jordan Wells, and Seth Perez on a fantastic season in the competitive field of wrestling, but this year, they hope to return to postseason and go even further.
This year they not only have brought back key wrestlers from last season but have brought in some new kids who have the potential to have an outstanding season.
The returners are Brady Havens, Joshua Jochec, Landon Terry, and Jordan Wells. The newcomers are Braiden Hadley, Hayden Marrs, Carlos Rodriguez, Alejandro Silva, Owen Sommerfield, David Woerndel, and Theoden Young.
Most of these newcomers have already been through five practices, some have just had two days. They also have brand new sleeved uniforms, which Coach Dale Keen believes was a big reason for the amount of newcomers who have come along for this new season.
They have already participated in the Arlington Invitational hosted by Arlington High School and the Salado Invite. Their next meet will be the Gatesville Invitational Round Robin on Dec. 4.
