Yoemen end season with loss to Tigers

The Cameron Yoemen baseball team traveled to take on the Rockdale Tigers on Friday, April 26. The Yoemen fell to Rockdale, losing in a 7-6 heartbreaker. 

Cameron got on the scoreboard first in the top of the third inning after Xavier Gilmon doubled on a line drive to left field, Braylan Drake singled on a fly ball to center field, and Homero Najera singled on a line drive to right field, each scoring one run. 

Rockdale responded with four runs in the bottom of the third inning to lead 4-3. Their runs came from a double and two Cameron fielding errors. The Yoemen found themselves down 6-4 in the top of the seventh inning when Xavier Gilmon singled, which brought in two runs and helped Cameron tie the game at 6. 

Rockdale then stunned the Yoemen in the bottom of the seventh inning with an RBI single to beat Cameron 7-6 in walkoff fashion. 

With this loss Cameron finishes the regular season with an overall record of 14-14 and a district record of 5-9. for a rematch with the Tigers for the regular season finale. The game will be Friday, April 26, and is set for 7 p.m.
