Yoemen fall to undefeated Academy

The Yoemen fell to undefeated Academy on Tuesday night at Yoe Gym.

They kept it close in the first quarter ending behind only two points, 16-12, to the Bumblebees. Then added 11 points to go into the locker room behind by only one.

They just couldn’t keep up in the second half and fell to Academy 62-50.

Thomas Melton led the Yoemen with 11 points and Pharrell Hemphill added 10.

Others scoring for the Yoemen were: Zakorien Spikes with eight, Phaibian Bynaum with six, Brayden Hollomon with six, Calvin Stewart with five, KeVaughn Booze with three, and Brent Wright with one.

The Yoemen drop to 3-9 in district play while the Bumblebees improve to 12-0 and clinch the district championship. 

The JVA team lost 72-70 and the JVB team won 63-24.

McGregor

The Yoemen also fell to McGrego 73-64 on Friday night.

Hemphill led the Yoemen with 14 points, Melton added 13, Booze added 12, and Hollomon and Spikes each scored 11.

The JV A team won 52-46 and the JVB team won 39-39.

Next up the Yoemen will host Rockdale on Friday for Parents Night at Yoe Gym.
