Yoemen, Lady Yoe bring home district track titles

The Yoemen and Lady Yoe track teams both took home district titles last week.

 

Lady Yoe

The Lady Yoe Track team once again took home the district title last week.

The 4x100 relay team of Crystal Daniels, Dayzsha Bradley, Lauren Harris and Yierra Flemings took home first place.

The 4x200 relay team of Brittani Drake, Dayzsha Bradley, Lauren Harris and Brandi Drake took home first place.

The 4x400 relay team of Camryn Ward, Ava Magre, Ja’Mya Miller and Lauren Harris got third place.

In the 100-meter dash Brandi Drake came in first place, Dayzsha Bradley came in second place, and Brittani Drake came in third place.

In the 200-meter dash Brandi Drake came in first place, Brittani Drake came in second place, and Crystal Daniels came in fourth place.

In the 400-meter dash Yierra Flemings came in first place and Camryn Ward came in fourt place.

In the 100-meter hurdles Yierra Flemings came in first place.

In the 3200-meter run Logan Pevehouse came in first place.

In the 1600-meter run Logan Pevehouse came in first place.

In the Long Jump Yierra Flemings came in first, Brittani Drake came in fifth and Brandi Drake came in sixth place.

In the Triple Jump Yierra Flemings came in first and Crystal Daniels came in fourth.

Crystal Daniels also came in fourth place in the High Jump.

In the Pole Vault Lauren Harris came in fifth place.

In the Shot Put Amelia Wimmer came in third and Jessa Florez came in sixth.

Jessa Florez also came in third place in the discus.

The Junior Varsity came in seventh overall.

In the100-meter dash LaShannon Lewis came in fifth place.

In the 800-meter run Emely Garcia came in sixth place.

In the 1600-meter run Emely Garcia came in fifth place.

In the Long Jump Lashannon Lewis came in second place.

 

Yoemen

The Yoemen were also crowned district champions. 

“It was touch and go for a while, but the Yoemen overcame a 30-point deficit in the last four events for the win,” Coach Lupe Florez said. “The Yoemen showed a lot of tenacity, with several athletes stepping in to replace several key guys who suffered season ending injuries. The JV fought to the very end, but came up just short for a second place finish. They did win the race everyone will remember, the 4x400.”

Kardarius Bradley came in second place in the 100-meter.

Pharrell Hemphill came in third in the 100-meter and fourth in the high jump.

Nathan Evans came in first place in the 1600-meter run and first place in the 3200-meter run.

Damon Fleaming placed sixth in the 1600-meter run and second place in the 800-meter run.

Braylan Drake placed second in the 200-meter run.

Cory Hardman placed fourth in the 200-meter and second in the Triple Jump.

Brady Havens placed fifth in the 3200-meter run.

Javoun Goldsby placed first in the 400-meter run and sixth in the Triple Jump. 

Armondo Reyes placed second in the 400-meter run.

Tracer Lopez placed first in the 300-meter hurdles.

Tyler Martin placed second in the Pole Vault. 

The 4x100 relay team of Lopez, Hardman, Hemphill, and Bradley placed third.

The 4x200 relay team of Drake, Hardman, Bradley, and Hemphill placed third.

The 4x400 relay team of Lopez, Goldsby, Reyes, and Drake placed first.

Placing for the Junior Varsity were:

Ahmad Braziel placed third in the 100-meter and second in the long jump.

Elijah Goodrum placed third in the 400-meter.

Brock Wright placed first in the 800-meter run and first in the 1600-meter run.

Zach Frausto placed third in the 800-meter run, third in the 1600-meter run, and first in the 3200-meter run.

Cesar Munoz placed fourth in the 1600-meter and second in the 3200-meter run.

Trey Bradley placed fifth in the Long Jump and first in the Triple Jump 

John Torres placed fourth in the Shot Put. 

Noah Vega placed third in the High Jump. 

Charlie Mayer placed fifth in the High Jump. 

The 4x100 relay team of Evans, Vega, Mayer, Braziel placed second.

The 4x200 relay team of Evans, Vega, Bradley, Mayer placed second.

The 4x400 relay team of Goodrum, Vega, Evans, Mayer placed first.
