POSGD welcomes new board member

Post Oak Savannah GCD welcomed Ed Savage as the new Board Member representing Rural Water interests from Burleson County on Jan. 8. Savage is a resident of Burleson County and attended Texas A&M where in December 1989 he received his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. Currently he is the Waste Water Field Operations Manager for the City of College Station. He has been employed in this position since 2001. Prior to this job, he was an Environmental Services Technician and Water/ Wastewater systems operator for College Station. He also owns and operates Savage Water Services, LLC, to manage small rural water suppliers in Burleson and Washington Counties. As a new Board Member for POSGCD, Savage has been appointed to serve on the Board’s Desired Future Conditions Committee and Education Committee. He steps in to the positon previously held by Robert “Bob” Ware, who recently retired from the Board, having served on the POSGCD Board since the District’s creation in 2001. Ware was recogninzed for his distinguished career and dedication to the success of POSGCD and its many programs which benefit the citizens of the District. He was the last of the original group of board members still serving. Savage is excited to serve in this position on the Board from Burleson County. “During my 26 year career in water utilities, I have had direct experience in strategic planning, construction, operations, maintenance, supervision, budgeting, design and evaluation of water and waste water utility infrastructure for private and public installations,” said Savage. Because of his experience, Savage understands existing state water needs and future demands placed on our aquifers. “I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the POSGCD team and look forward to serving the people of this District,” Savage said. “I will bring all of my experience and resources gained from a career in the water industry to represent the population of the District.”
