Many fundraisers happening around Milano this spring

A blood drive for Gause resident and Milano High School graduate Dendy Brown is scheduled for Thursday at the Gause ISD gym. In September 2018, Dendy was critically injured in an auto accident and required multiple surgeries and transfusions as part of his medical treatment. There will be a motorcycle run, barbecue plates and T-shirts for sale, as well as live and silent auctions and a raffle. Watch this column for more details in the coming weeks. If you like to support area 4-H and FFA students, there is a new way you can do so. The newly formed Milano/ Gause Ag Booster Club is accepting new members. An active booster family has a fee of $50 per child and $25 for each additional child. Or, if you don’t have any children involved with any of the local livestock shows, there is an option to become a $25 honorary or individual member. (979) 324-4243. The Milano Volunteer Fire Department’s annual chili supper set for Feb. 16 at the fire station. The event will conclude with the drawing of 10 big prizes for the group’s annual fundraiser. Tickets for the annual drawing are now on sale and are$5 each or five for $20. Prizes include: two Henry Golden Boy 22 LR, two Taurus Public Defender .45/410, Remington 700, Marlin 336W 30-30, Remington 870 Shotgun, Ruger American Bolt Action 22 LR, Taurus 738 TCP 380 and $100 Academy gift card.
